Firm Prevails at Utah Supreme Court: Ashby v. Ashby

The Utah Supreme Court ruled 5-0 on Tuesday (9 February 2010) that the former wife of a doctor can sue her ex-husband after she financially supported him through medical school "in exchange for [his] promise of a higher standard of living."  Scott Card and Matt Howell represent Gloria Ashby in the case.  This represents a substantial development in Utah law protecting those who provide the financial support during their spouse's education.  The court's opinion appears here.
