William L. Fillmore graduated magna cum laude in English Literature from Brigham Young University in 1972, where he was a Hinckley Scholar and served as Studentbody President. After working in Washington, D.C. as a White House Intern in 1973, Mr. Fillmore went on to the University of Chicago Law School, graduating in 1976. He practiced first in Denver, Colorado with the regional law firm of Holland & Hart, and later in Logan, Utah with Olson & Hoggan. He stepped out of private practice in 1986 to serve as Associate General Counsel for Brigham Young University. In 1991, he opened the Utah County Office for the Salt Lake law firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy, serving as managing attorney for three years before forming his own firm in 1994. Mr. Fillmore spent 2 ½ years in Vienna, Austria in the service of his Church in the late 60’s and still speaks German. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Provo-Orem Chamber of Commerce, as a member of the BYU Alumni Association Board, and a member of the Provo School District Foundation for Excellence Board. He was a co-founder of the annual Summit Conferences for the Utah Information Technologies Association, and legal advisor and Board Member of the Academy Square Foundation. He now serves as legal counsel for America’s Freedom Festival at Provo, as the President of the BYU Cougar Club, and as a member of the Board of Directors for Timpanogos Regional Hospital. Mr. Fillmore engages in a general corporate and business practice, and handles a variety of purchase, sale and merger matters, debt and equity financing transactions, licensing and commercial real estate matters. He also assists corporate clients in search of investment capital and strategic partners.
