Landlord rights

  • Rent paid on time provided the property is properly maintained
  • Written tenant repair requests
  • Tenant compliance with all lease terms
  • Fifteen days’ written notice before a month-to-month tenant intends to move, or by time frame specified in written rental agreement


Landlord responsibilities

  • Comply with all health and building codes
  • Make requested repairs promptly
  • Give 24 hours’ written notice prior to entering a tenant’s premises, except in emergencies
  • Maintain peace and quiet so other tenants can operate without unreasonable disturbance by you or other tenants
  • Give 15 days’ written notice on any changes in a month-to-month agreement, or within time frame specified in written rental agreement
  • Abide by lease agreement


Tenant rights

  • A safe and sanitary space
  • The right to conduct business undisturbed
  • Written notice of changes in lease terms
  • To remain in the rented space until evicted by court order


Tenant responsibilities

  • Pay full rent on time
  • Take care of rented space
  • Inform landlord of needed repairs in writing, and keep a copy
  • Ensure employees and customers keep noise levels down, and consideration of other tenants
  • Abide by lease agreement
  • Give 15 days’ written notice before the end of rental term before moving, unless otherwise specified in lease
